RunRev just released their free, open source version of LiveCode, called LiveCode Community Edition. Here's a link with all of the information:

This is not a demo version, it is the real deal. You get a fully functioning version of LiveCode. There are a few catches. Here are the two that jumped out at me:
All in all, I think this is fantastic, especially for educators like myself.

- All of the programs you create must be open source when you distribute them.
- You cannot publish apps to Apple's App Store.
